Basketball Recap: Cumberland Comes Up Short

Cumberland played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Wildwood Warriors, falling 55-34. The game marked the Colts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading Wildwood to victory were Nolan Mawhinney and Brian Cunniff. Mawhinney to rack up 15 points and four steals, while Cunniff posted 17 points and eight rebounds. That's the most steals Mawhinney has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeff Knight, who earned four points and five boards.

Cumberland dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wildwood, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.

Cumberland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wildwood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-62 win against Pleasantville on the 24th.
