Basketball Game Preview: Belvidere Bucs vs. Hononegah Indians

Belvidere is 0-10 against Hononegah since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Belvidere Bucs are taking a road trip to face off against the Hononegah Indians at 7:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Belvidere is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since January 7th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Belvidere North by a score of 57-54. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bucs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Blue Thunder are ranked 455th).

Meanwhile, Hononegah unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The match between them and Freeport didn't end well, with Hononegah falling 66-52.

Belvidere's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Hononegah, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.

Belvidere couldn't quite finish off Hononegah in their previous meeting back in January and fell 72-70. Can Belvidere avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
