Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Indian River's 11th in Last 13 Outings

Indian River won the last time they faced Fayetteville-Manlius and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Indian River Wolves came out on top against the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets by a score of 50-42. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Hornets are ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Indian River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allison LaMora led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and 17 boards. LaMora has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. Keera LaLonde was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Indian River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 44 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Indian River is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
