Basketball Recap: Santa Gertrudis Academy Comes Up Short

Santa Gertrudis Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fightin' Jerseys apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Santa Gertrudis Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Falfurrias, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Santa Gertrudis Academy will take on Incarnate Word Academy in a tournament on Friday. As for Falfurrias, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop at 12:30 p.m. on December 31st.
