Basketball Recap: Salem Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Salem Academy Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Excel Academy Charter Wolves, falling 49-9. The Navigator were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Excel Academy Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kailani Goncalves, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Ana Freitas, who had 12 points.

Salem Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Excel Academy Charter, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Salem Academy Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Pioneer Charter School of Science II at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Excel Academy Charter, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Boston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
