Soccer Game Preview: Rancho Solano Prep vs. Cicero Prep Academy

The Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rancho Solano Prep will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Fountain Hills on Monday. Everything went Rancho Solano Prep's way against Fountain Hills as Rancho Solano Prep made off with a 5-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cicero Prep Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Gladiators a 2-0 shutout. The Centurions' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Rancho Solano Prep pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four contests. As for Cicero Prep Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

Rancho Solano Prep beat Cicero Prep Academy 2-0 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rancho Solano Prep since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
