Basketball Game Preview: Walsh Eagles vs. Boise City Wildcats

The Walsh Eagles will take on the Boise City Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walsh is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Walsh was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-33 to Granada. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 11-7 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Walsh saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gage Caddick posted 12 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Caddick is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Samuel Wright was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Boise City faced off against Turpin on Monday. Boise City fell 60-51 to Turpin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Cardinals are ranked 87th).

Walsh's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Boise City, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Walsh beat Boise City 65-57 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Walsh repeat their success, or does Boise City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
