Preview: Lakehill Prep Warriors vs. Yavneh Academy Bulldogs
Lakehill Prep has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Yavneh Academy Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yavneh Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakehill Prep, who comes in off a win.
Lakehill Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. They secured a 45-40 W over Highlands. The victory was just what Lakehill Prep needed coming off of a 62-7 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Yavneh Academy lost to Bishop Gorman on the road by a decisive 64-49 margin on Thursday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Daniela Hargrove, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Achar, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Even though they lost, Yavneh Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lakehill Prep's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3. As for Yavneh Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.
Lakehill Prep suffered a grim 49-27 defeat to Yavneh Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Lakehill Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
