Recap: Thomson Bulldogs vs. Sumter County Panthers        
        
		
            
 The Thomson Bulldogs and the Sumter County Panthers squared off in some playoff action  on Wednesday, but sadly the Thomson Bulldogs had to settle for second. They fell  51-41 to the Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Thomson came into the  game with a sizable advantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 32nd, while Sumter County is ranked 91st).
 Thomson's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Paris Rosser, who  scored five points along with six  assists and six  rebounds, and  Jada Kendrick who  scored 13 points along with three  steals. Kendrick has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last 12 times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Janiya Scott, who  scored six points.
  Jesstynie Scott was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 20 points and 11  rebounds for Sumter County. Scott is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was  Lauren Harris, who  dropped  a double-double on ten points and ten  rebounds.
 Thomson's loss  ended a five-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 22-5. As for Sumter County, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record  this season.
 Thomson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sumter County, they will head out on the road to  take on  Central at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Central will roll in looking for their  18th straight  victory, something Sumter County surely won't give up without a fight.
