Basketball Game Preview: Antioch Bears vs. Cane Ridge Ravens

The Antioch Bears will square off against the Cane Ridge Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Monday, Antioch came up short against Hillsboro and fell 44-33. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Burros are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cane Ridge). They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 89-48 victory over Hunters Lane. The win was nothing new for the Ravens as they're now sitting on three straight.

Antioch better focus on containing Adam Clark and Avyion McCleton as the pair were huge in Cane Ridge's win. Clark dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds, while McCleton posted 14 points along with seven assists and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Clark a new career-high in assists (six). Jalen Fails was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Cane Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Antioch's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Cane Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Antioch was able to grind out a solid win over Cane Ridge in their previous matchup on February 4th, winning 61-54. Will Antioch repeat their success, or does Cane Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
