Baseball Game Preview: Frostproof Bulldogs vs. Lake Gibson Braves

The Frostproof Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Lake Gibson Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Frostproof is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Frostproof is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Four Corners with a sharp 11-2 win on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

Bradley Roberts made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Frostproof is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-7 otherwise. Roberts was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other pitching news, Ashton Feagle tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, Landon Fuller was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Paulk, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Frostproof always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 27 runs the game before, Lake Gibson was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to Pasco. The loss continues a trend for the Braves in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Lake Gibson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Frostproof, their record now sits at 6-8.

Frostproof beat Lake Gibson 9-4 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frostproof since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
