Basketball Recap: West Laurens Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Academy of Richmond County came into Friday's game looking for another win against West Laurens, but Nas Jones wouldn't allow it. The West Laurens Raiders blew past the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers 84-63 on Friday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. He has become a key player for West Laurens: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 8-11 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Dorian Watkins, who posted 12 points and eight assists. Those eight assists gave him a new career-high.

West Laurens is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games.
