Football Recap: Chatfield Chargers vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles
Chatfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took down the Dakota Ridge Eagles 38-23. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Brock Narva had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 64 receiving yards. Rome Bell did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 112 receiving yards.
Dakota Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kellen Behrendsen, who threw for 291 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Landon Kalsbeck helped Behrendsen out on the ground, rushing for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chatfield will venture away from home to square off against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dakota Ridge, they will square off against Green Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
