Elkhorn Valley had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 47-39 win over the Plainview Pirates on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-43 back in December of 2024.

Elkhorn Valley was led to victory by Korbin Werner and Kellyn Ollendick. Werner dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Ollendick dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Ollendick has scored at least a third of Elkhorn Valley's points. Logan Black was another key player, putting up nine points.

Elkhorn Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plainview only nine assists.

Plainview's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kohen Lingenfelter, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jacson King, who had 12 points.

Elkhorn Valley's record now sits at 14-8. As for Plainview, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-8 record.

Looking ahead, Elkhorn Valley will head out on the road to take on Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Plainview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
