Baseball Game Preview: Magee Trojans vs. Crystal Springs Tigers

For the second straight game, Magee will face off against Crystal Springs. The Trojans will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Magee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Crystal Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Magee is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Crystal Springs a 17-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Trojans have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Harper was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Cole, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Timothy Craft was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Magee has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Crystal Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
