Golden Valley entered their tilt with El Capitan on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged the El Capitan Gauchos out 2-1. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one goal.

Jose Ontiveros-Martinez and Daniel Gaona scored both of Golden Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Golden Valley now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for El Capitan, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 5-4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Golden Valley will host Atwater at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Atwater's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for El Capitan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Merced at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
