Baseball Game Preview: Damonte Ranch Mustangs vs. Spanish Springs Cougars

For the second straight game, Damonte Ranch will face off against Spanish Springs. The Mustangs will square off against the Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Having struggled with 14 defeats in a row, Damonte Ranch turned things around against Spanish Springs on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 7-6.

Samny DeSouza looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Topher Shirley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Wigfield, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Damonte Ranch's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 2-14. As for Spanish Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
