Baseball Game Preview: Thunder Ridge Titans vs. Sugar-Salem Diggers

The Thunder Ridge Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Sugar-Salem Diggers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Thunder Ridge has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thunder Ridge is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Canyon Ridge on Wednesday. They lost 12-2 to the Riverhawks. The Titans' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Thunder Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kanden Westergard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Sugar-Salem entered their tilt with Snake River on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 14-0 shutout. The Diggers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.

Sugar-Salem's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Thunder Ridge, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.

Thunder Ridge suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Sugar-Salem when the teams last played on Thursday. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
