The Denver South Ravens will head out to square off against the Rangeview Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Denver South is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Denver South fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Vista PEAK Prep on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bison by a score of 6-5. The Ravens' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hunter Vitello was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Denver South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Komarowsky, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Ricardo Martinez was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Rangeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Denver East, falling 10-1.

Denver South's record now sits at 10-6. As for Rangeview, their record is now 7-11.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Denver South has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rangeview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Denver South was able to grind out a solid win over Rangeview when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-2. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
