Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is East Paulding's Fifth in Last Six Outings

East Paulding got themselves on the board against South Paulding on Thursday, but South Paulding never followed suit. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 4-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-4 back in August.

Not much got past Emma Hernandez, who gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks to keep South Paulding off the board. Hernandez has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chloe Grier was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kennedi Nye also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

East Paulding is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for South Paulding, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.

Looking ahead, East Paulding will face off against Veterans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.9, the Warhawks 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for South Paulding, they will take on Hillgrove at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
