Preview: Pinson Valley Indians vs. Huntsville Panthers

The Pinson Valley Indians's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Huntsville Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Pinson Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday.

On Monday, Pinson Valley faced Fairfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinson Valley took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairfield.

Despite the loss, Pinson Valley had strong showings from Camron Frost, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Austin Coner, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Clyde Walters, who scored two points along with nine assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Huntsville entered their tilt with Sparkman with 19 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 20. Huntsville blew past Sparkman, posting a 85-54 victory at home. Huntsville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Pinson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Huntsville, their win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1.

Pinson Valley beat Huntsville 67-59 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pinson Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
