Baseball Game Preview: West Broward Bobcats vs. Southwest Eagles

For the second straight game, West Broward will face off against Southwest. The Bobcats will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. West Broward's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Southwest's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Broward heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Wednesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Southwest's part, Euclides Alvarez tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Albert Bell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Rico, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

The win (which was Southwest's fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for West Broward, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.
