Softball Game Preview: Southwest Legacy Titans vs. MacArthur Brahmas

Southwest Legacy is 0-3 against MacArthur since February of 2022 but things could change on Friday. Southwest Legacy will challenge MacArthur at 6:00 p.m. Southwest Legacy has given up an average of 12.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southwest Legacy fell victim to South San Antonio and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 12-0. The Titans' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Southwest Legacy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Novalee Gloria, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, MacArthur posted their closest win since April 18, 2024 on Monday. They skirted past Winn 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Brahmas.

Kaylin Salazar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Katelin Keller was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Sienna Richmond was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Southwest Legacy's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for MacArthur, the victory got them back to even at 9-9-1.

Southwest Legacy came up short against MacArthur in their previous meeting back in February, falling 16-13. Can Southwest Legacy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
