Basketball Recap: Mexia Piles Up the Points Against Westwood

There's no place like home for Mexia, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Westwood Panthers 54-26 on Tuesday. Given the Black Cats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Panthers are ranked 1135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mexia pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Westwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
