Baseball Recap: Durango Comes Up Short

Durango suffered their biggest defeat since March 15, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 11-1 to the Fruita Monument Wildcats. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Demons' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

This is the second loss in a row for Durango and nudges their season record down to 11-6. As for Fruita Monument, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Durango will face off against rival Palisade at 4:00 p.m. on May 9. Meanwhile, Fruita Monument is set to challenge their familiar foe Grand Junction Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Wildcats' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Warriors have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
