Softball Recap: Sweetwater Takes a Loss

Sweetwater entered their matchup against Sequoyah on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chiefs earlier this season, when they won 8-2.

Sadie Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Sweetwater saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Richeson, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Sweetwater and nudges their season record down to 14-2. As for Sequoyah, they moved to 6-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sweetwater will square off against McMinn Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sequoyah, they will take on South-Doyle at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
