Baseball Recap: Antonito Comes Up Short

Antonito was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sierra Grande Panthers, falling 10-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Rylan Trant put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

Trant wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Mascarenaz, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Antonito's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sierra Grande, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

While Antonito had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
