Hickory had won two straight games and Kelvin Morrison did his part to make it three on Friday. The Hornets really took it to the Slippery Rock Rockets for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-14 win thanks in part to Morrison, who rushed for 245 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.

Hickory's record is now 8-1. As for Slippery Rock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Hickory does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Slippery Rock, they will host Mercer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.13 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
