Basketball Recap: Corin Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eldon over Lebanon

Eldon lost against Lebanon back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eldon Mustangs fell to the Lebanon Yellowjackets 55-51.

Eldon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Corin Davis, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 24 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kaydin Davis, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Eldon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

Morgan Durbin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lebanon, going 9 for 21 en route to 25 points and five boards. Mithila Massey was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Eldon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Lebanon, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Eldon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Versailles at 4:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Lebanon, they will be taking part in a tournament against Camdenton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lebanon is facing Camdenton at the right time seeing as Camdenton is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
