Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Minico). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Jerome Tigers 58-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Tigers are ranked 85th).

Minico's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.8 points on average over those games. As for Jerome, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minico will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Burley at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Jerome, they will square off against Homedale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
