Recap: Bishop O'Dowd Dragons vs. Piedmont Highlanders
The Bishop O'Dowd Dragons waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They snuck past Piedmont with a 51-46 win. Given Bishop O'Dowd's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Piedmont is ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop O'Dowd's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Green led the charge by scoring 11 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Chapman, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bishop O'Dowd pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Piedmont, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
Bishop O'Dowd will take on Castro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Piedmont, they will head out on the road to take on Berkeley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
