Basketball Recap: Central Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Valley Christian Academy on Thursday, Central Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Central Christian Academy Eagles fell 49-37 to the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen on Friday. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Franklin Road Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gracie Tidwell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Tidwell has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryleigh Dempsey, who posted 12 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Central Christian Academy fell to 4-1. As for Franklin Road Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

Central Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Road Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pleasant View Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
