Softball Game Preview: Deer Valley Wolverines vs. Richmond Oilers

The Deer Valley Wolverines are taking a road trip to square off against the Richmond Oilers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Valley has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Deer Valley lost 17-6 to Irvington on Tuesday. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braelyn Valdez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2. Valdez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Lysette Marcial also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against El Cerrito, falling 28-7.

Deer Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
