After a string of three wins, Bluffton's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hardin Northern Polar Bears by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pirates have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Bluffton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Speicher, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Landen Worcester was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bluffton now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Hardin Northern, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4-1.

Looking ahead, Bluffton will square off against Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hardin Northern, they will take on Elgin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
