Softball Recap: Schoharie Wins Going Away Against Northville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Voorheesville, Schoharie was happy to have turned things around on Sunday. They blew past the Northville Falcons 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Kayla Hayes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Arabella Donzelli was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Alaina Martin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Schoharie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Schoharie's record now sits at 7-8. As for Northville, they moved to 5-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Schoharie nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
