Volleyball Recap: South Point Falls Despite Big Games from Ava Cooper and Kaitlyn Ledford

It was a good run, but South Point unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ayden - Grifton Chargers.

Kaitlyn Ledford and Ava Cooper certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ledford had 12 digs and two aces, while Cooper had 16 assists and seven digs. Cooper has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

South Point's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Ayden - Grifton, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

South Point wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Mountain Island Charter on the 27th. As for Ayden - Grifton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against McMichael on the 27th.
