Baseball Recap: Linn Triumphs

Linn proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the St. James Tigers 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 30, 2024.

Gus Peters made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Peters was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Peters wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Craig Laughlin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Linn's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Linn Wildcats duke it out with Hermann Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. James, they are taking a road trip to square off against Clever at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
