Baseball Recap: Bloomingdale's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Bloomingdale lost against Jefferson back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bloomingdale Bulls fell just short of the Jefferson Dragons by a score of 6-4.

Hayden Porter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isaiah Perez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Alvin Cruz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Bloomingdale's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Bloomingdale will challenge East Bay at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Bloomingdale has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Jefferson, they will take on Gaither at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaither is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
