Aiden Thomas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Norman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cole Richardson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Community Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 24 runs the game before, Piedmont Community Charter was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to North Hills Christian.
Community Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Piedmont Community Charter, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10.
Community Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Piedmont Community Charter in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
