Softball Recap: St. Paul Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Paul had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Seneca East Tigers by a score of 9-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Flyers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

St. Paul let Ella Kalizewski and Ryleigh Mansfield-Bush run wild. Kalizewski went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Mansfield-Bush went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Mansfield-Bush a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taegan Mansfield-Bush, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Paul kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

St. Paul's record now sits at 13-11. As for Seneca East, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, St. Paul will take on Monroeville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Flyers will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. Seneca East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
