Softball Recap: 16 Straight Home Wins for Hallettsville

There's no place like home for Hallettsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past the Tidehaven Tigers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Brahmas have posted since February 27th.

Grace Halata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Hallettsville's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addison Matula, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Matula also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Hallettsville's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Tidehaven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.
