Softball Recap: Eastern Alamance Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Eastern Alamance entered their tilt with Orange on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Seven seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Not much got past Delani Straughan, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Orange off the board. Straughan has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayden Manning, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Carley Boggs was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Eastern Alamance hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Eastern Alamance's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Orange, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eastern Alamance and Orange will both be playing Southern Alamance the next time they take the field. Eastern Alamance will head out to face Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Orange will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on April 10.
