Baseball Recap: Ennis' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

If Ennis was riding high fresh off their 12-3 takedown of Kaufman on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ennis Lions fell just short of the Life Waxahachie Mustangs by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Ennis got a good showing from Jairo Robledo, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

Even though they lost, Ennis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matches.

Ennis' loss dropped their record down to 7-6-2. As for Life Waxahachie, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4-2.

Coming up, Ennis will head out on the road to challenge Crandall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ennis' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Crandall's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Life Waxahachie, they will take on Cistercian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Life Waxahachie has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
