Recap: Reidsville Rams vs. Orange Panthers
The Reidsville Rams suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-36 walloping at the hands of Orange. While losing is never fun, Reidsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Orange is ranked 183rd).
It was another big night for Evelyn George, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and five rebounds for Orange. George is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maura McMurtry, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Reidsville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Orange, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Reidsville will head out on the road to face off against Morehead at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Morehead is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Orange will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Eastern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
