Soccer Game Preview: Shasta vs. Yreka

The Shasta Wolves will head out to challenge the Yreka Miners at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Shasta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.3 goals per game this season.

Shasta took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed back in December of 2024. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over West Valley. Considering Wolves have won three matchups by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit West Valley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gavin Copeland (3), Zach Pine, and Warren Newsome.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Yreka was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Red Bluff by a score of 1-0. The Miners haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Shasta's win bumped their record up to 5-2-1. As for Yreka, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-3.
