If Mauston was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Westfield Area on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cotter Ramblers on Saturday. The Golden Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Their offense was headlined by Lillyan Wilke and Ella Franek, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Sophia Brummond and her five assists. Kira Clemens controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mauston's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Cotter, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
