Preview: Naaman Forest Rangers vs. Wylie Pirates
Naaman Forest is 2-8 against Wylie since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Naaman Forest Rangers will be home for the holidays to greet the Wylie Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Naaman Forest has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 49-44 win over South Garland on Friday.
Meanwhile, Wylie entered their tilt with Rowlett with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Wylie came out on top against Rowlett by a score of 73-66 on Tuesday. Given Wylie's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Rowlett is ranked 555th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Naaman Forest's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-12. As for Wylie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Naaman Forest came up short against Wylie when the teams last played back in February, falling 53-49. Can Naaman Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
