Volleyball Recap: Stacey Eagles vs. Sabinal Yellowjackets

After flying high against Brackett on Friday, Stacey came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Sabinal Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellowjackets 25-20 in the first set.

Stacey started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 14-25, 25-14, 25-14, 15-11.

Jordan Davis paced Stacey's offense, picking up 12 kills. Davis got some help from Leah Jones and her 25 assists. McKynlee Adams controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Stacey's defeat dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Sabinal, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Stacey will challenge rival Charlotte at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sabinal is set to face off against their familiar foe La Pryor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
