Soccer Game Preview: Jesuit vs. Arnold

The Jesuit Tigers will square off against the Arnold Marlins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Jesuit sitting on 11 straight victories and Arnold on six.

Jesuit is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pembroke Pines Charter a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Arnold won against Booker T. Washington last Wednesday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Wednesday. Arnold came out on top against River Ridge by a score of 2-0. Given the Marlins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while the Royal Knights are ranked 46th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carson Stewart was the driving force of Arnold's attack as he scored both of Arnold's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

Jesuit pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 92 goals over those 18 contests. As for Arnold, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.
