Softball Recap: Crismon Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Crismon's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Central Bobcats a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Rattlers have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Alessandra Vizcarra was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Alee Grace Trunell also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Crismon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .361 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Crismon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for Central, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crismon will square off against ALA - Gilbert North at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rattlers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Central, they will take on Fairfax at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stampede have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
